Master Robert Turner Robert Turner has been the ICM's President since 2003, an Honorary Fellow of the Institute since 1999. He was Senior Master of the Supreme Court and Queen's Remembrancer from 1996-2007 and is a Gray's Inn Bencher and Notarial Board Member. He served on the Woolf Inquiry, introducing civil procedure reforms into the High Court in 1998 and overseeing the new enforcement regime of the High Court in 2004. He lectured on these reforms throughout the Commonwealth and Europe. He is Professor of Law at the University of Gloucestershire and Doctor of Laws at the University of the West of England, also a Liveryman of the Goldsmiths Company and the Scriveners Company and a Freeman of the City of London.

Andrew Sawers, Editor, Financial Director Andrew Sawers has been the editor of Financial Director magazine for over ten years and has turned it into the leading title in its sector. Before joining Financial Director Andrew held senior editorial positions on Accountancy Age, BusinessAge and Commercial Lawyer magazines. As editor of Financial Director, Andrew has been a finalist in the British Society of Magazine Editors' awards every year from 2002 to 2007. In May 2004 Financial Director was named Periodical Publishers Association Best Monthly Business & Professional Magazine and in March 2007 it was shortlisted for the same award. A Scottish-Canadian, Andrew studied accountancy at Glasgow University then took up a stockbroking career in the City of London. He is a Fellow of the RSA, the Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce.

Jeff Tucker, Managing Director, March Publishing Jeff Tucker is the Managing Director of March Publishing Ltd, an award winning publishing, events, marketing and communications company who's clients include a wide spectrum of public and private-sector companies and organisations. Publications include the leading independent international trade title International Trade Focus and events include The Annual Export Luncheon, the largest export networking luncheon in Europe.


Jane Hingston, Lead Ombudsman, Banking & Credit Jane Hingston is the Financial Ombudsman Service's Lead Ombudsman for banking and credit, appointed to the post in January 2005. Her area of the Service expanded significantly from April 2007, when over 80,000 consumer credit licence holders became covered for the first time. A firm believer in the benefits to consumers and to industry of the availability of informal, accessible and independent dispute resolution, Jane began her ombudsman career in 1991 when she joined the Office of the Banking Ombudsman. Holding degrees in Law and in Financial Services, Jane is an Honorary Fellow of the Institute of Credit Management.

Alan Long Alan has over 12 years' experience of working in the Education sector across a range of organisations. From delivering IT courses at a major London college, to over nine years working for the examinations regulator, the QCA, developing policy initiatives and leading on major projects. Alan has recently returned to the private sector taking up the role of Business Development Director at Hotcourses Ltd - an organisation that specialises in developing web-based solutions for the Education sector.


Gabs Makhlouf Gabriel ('Gabs') Makhlouf is Director, Debt Management and Banking at HM Revenue & Customs. He leads an organisation of 10,000 people (in 170 locations across the UK) that is responsible for HMRC's inward cash flow (ie payments of Income Tax, VAT, Excise Duties, Corporation Tax and so on) and pursuing overdue payments and returns. He is a member of HMRC's Operating Committee and its Corporate Responsibility Steering Group. Gabs is a member of the Board of Trustees of the IBFD, an international tax research and publishing organisation based in Amsterdam.

Graham Horne Graham is a career civil servant and is currently the Deputy Chief Executive of The Insolvency Service. In that post he has particular responsibility for Corporate and Business Services the latter including redundancy payments, estate accounting and enforcement policy. Prior to that he ran the office of the Director General Fair Markets of the (then) DTI, the policy responsibilities of the group included competition and consumer law, company law and employment relations as well as 3 executive agencies.
