icm08 Awards Categories

Awarded by the Institute of Credit Management, the leading professional body of its kind in Europe, the ICM Awards are designed to reward and acknowledge excellent practice in an increasingly complex and demanding profession.

This year’s categories are:

Credit Professional of The Year, Sponsored by Transcom
The ultimate accolade, this award is given for exceptional performance and achievement. The nominated candidates should be able to demonstrate a tangible and measurable improvement in their particular field over the last 12 months. Evidence of a structured approach to their business discipline – demonstrating a considered and socially responsible approach – will be required.

Credit Personality of The Year, Sponsored by Callcredit
Recognising that credit managers are people too, this award reflects the nominee’s contribution to society and life in general. Nominated individuals should be able to demonstrate a significant contribution to society, through charitable efforts, or significant personal achievement against the odds.

The Sir Roger Cork Prize

An annual award presented to the Affiliate who achieved the highest aggregate examination marks within the calendar year 2007.

The Unsung Hero Award, Sponsored by ICC
Recognises the individual working at the coalface, getting on with the job and – in the process – playing a part in a significant achievement. Nominations should be able to demonstrate how an unsung hero – possibly a member of a much larger team – has made a significant contribution to their business.

Responsible Lending Award, Sponsored by Moreton Smith
Judges will need to see how a nominated individual, or team, demonstrated a thorough, systematic approach to lending designed to ensure credit is granted in a responsible manner.

Developing the Team Award, Sponsored by UK Search Limited
This award is given to the individual who can demonstrate real results from structured training programmes.

Newcomer of The Year Award, Sponsored by Avance Group
ICM has always encouraged new entrants to the sector and this award recognises the credit professional with less than 18 months’ experience who has made a real and significant contribution to their employer’s organisation.

Initiative of The Year, Sponsored by Atradius
Recognising the individual or team that has taken an existing problem and come up with a new and innovative solution creating measurable improvement.

Performance Improvement Award, Sponsored by Experian
An overall performance improvement award is given to the team or organisation that can show the greatest measurable progress in their performance in their particular field of activity.

Fraud Prevention Award, Sponsored by Graydon
This award recognises the individual or team that can demonstrate the introduction of significant measures leading to real and measurable improvements.

International Trade Initiative Award, Sponsored by ICMOS
This award recognises the organisation or individual that, in the past year, has demonstrated the greatest commitment to understanding and managing an increasingly complex world.
